It took some time to complete, but my Tau now have broadside support!
I tried to achieve cleaner edge highlighting, and not to ruin that, I toned down on the damage and weathering.
This guys is supposed to be in the rear, right?

Starter Kits
See below my recent exploits. I worked on two starter kits I had lying around.
These boxes are a great way to get acquainted with the 40K Universe.
Assault on Black Reach (2014)
This was my first encounter with the space marines. Somehow it took some years to paint this kit. I already had so many units to paint that I just went for the default units, which you can build from more parts and position to your wishes.
I did not go for the Ultramarine look, but went for the Imperial Fists, i just like to paint units in such a way that a lot of detail is visible. Even though these guys have relatively simple stances, when properly painted they look awesome.
Dark Vengeance (2015)
This kit was surprisingly detailed and great fun to paint.
I went for a look that conveyed they are old and battered but still menacing and combat ready.
The hobby is alive and kicking. Currently I am painting the Dark Angels squadron to complete the space marine force from this great starter kit.
Unfortunately i am still waiting for the right airbrush colour to arrive... meanwhile I worked details, like this sergeant´s face.

Still painting
This hobby can grind to a halt and suddenly come back full force.
Last year i had few shorts bursts of activity mostly related to my main force: the Tau.

Last year I finished some kroot, a pathfinder team and a Riptide. I went for a camouflaged look, matching my Tau vehicles.

Tau squad completed
This time a picture of the complete squad, properly based.
In the background you can see my new project, a Devilfish.

Tau Firewarriors
It's been a while. What can I say? Life has its other demands... But this holiday I had plenty of time and got inspired once more. This time it's the Tau! These figures were fantastic to paint, so I felt no need to modify any of them. What I like about Tau is the opportunity to use an extreme contrasted paint-scheme and make it look -imho- good.

Magnet powah!
On the B&C forum I came across a great post about the use of magnets to give your minis multiple weapon options, and decided I just HAD to have that for my sergeants.
The paintjob is still WIP, but it works beautifully. Make sure the magnets ATTRACT each other before super gluing them on the arms and bodies. I used a marker to indicate the correct side, so I wouldn't screw it up.
The magnets I found on ebay.I can recommend the 1/16'' X 1/32'' magnets (Approx 1.5 mm.). For 100 magnets you'll pay approx 12.75 euri.
